Terms & Conditions

The use of Tin Can Bay Motel premises and website is conditional upon the guest agreeing to all terms and conditions set out below. The terms and conditions for the agents of Tin Can Bay Motel are to be read in conjunction with the terms and conditions set out below.

 


Reservations


Reservations can be made either directly with the motel or an agent.


All care must be taken to ensure that the information provided to the motel is correct. Only persons over 18 years of age can make a booking.
When making a reservation with Tin Can Bay Motel, the following details are required:

 

  • Name and company (if applicable);
  • Address, email, phone or fax number; and
  • Credit card number, expiry date and card holder’s name.


Once this information is supplied, the motel will contact you by email or some other means, confirming your reservation based on availability of units and for the authentication of your credit card.


Your reservation will not be finalised and may be rejected if the information required is not supplied.


If requested an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you when your reservation is confirmed. A valid email address should be provided when booking through the booking enquiry form. The managers may at their discretion refuse entry of any guest and reject bookings.


Rates


All rates quoted on our website www.tincanbaymotel.com.au relate only to Tin Can Bay Motel during non-peak seasons.
Rates are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST), charges and surcharges and are subject to change at any time without notice. Discounts cards cannot be used in conjunction with the prices quoted for package deals.
Verbal quoted rates are estimates only and subject to change until written reservation confirmation can be provided in respect to specified rooms and number of guests.


Cancellations


Notice of cancellation must be made to the motel directly. Notice of cancellation must be made by no later than 10:00am, 7 days prior to the reserved date of arrival. For bookings made one month or more in advance, notice of cancellation must be 14 days prior to the reserved date of arrival.


Cancellations after the due date incur a cancellation fee equivalent to one night’s booked room rate being charged to the credit card supplied when booking was made. Cancellations made during peak periods require 28 days notice. Should the reservation be cancelled within this time the full amount of the reservation is payable.


In the event of failure to arrive on the reserved booking date or cancellations after check-in, no refund will apply.

 

Payment


Payment can be made by eftpos, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard, American Express, Diners) or cash.


Arrivals


On arrival, guests are required to complete and are bound to the terms of the Tin Can Bay Motel Registration form. Guests under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years of age. Check-in is between 1:00pm – 8:00pm. Check-out is by 11:00am.


Guests are to notify the managers if their arrival and/or departure time is outside the listed hours.


Security Deposit and Photo Identification. Guests are required to provide credit card details on arrival to cover incidental charges. Where a credit card is not available a $200.00 cash bond will be required. The length of the guests’ stay may vary the amount of cash deposit required.
Valid photo identification must be presented at the time of check-in.
House Rules


Smoking is prohibited in all units at Tin Can Bay Motel and a charge of $300 applies for the cost of cleaning and three night’s extra accommodation for airing of the room.


Although each apartment has a parking space there are no specifically reserved parking spaces for individual rooms.
Guest and invitees of the guests are expected to behave in a manner conducive to the safety, comfort and convenience of the guests within the property.
A breach of the House Rule may result on the summary eviction of the offender at the discretion of the Manager.


A breach of House Rule includes:

 

  • Noisy, offensive and/or unruly behaviour;
  • Damage to or destruction of property;
  • Improper or unseemly conduct;
  • Any act or omission which, in the opinion of the Manager adversely affects or brings discredit upon the Manager, owner or the guests.


It is also a condition of your occupation that the owners/management of the premises are not liable for any omission, defaults or neglect for accidents or injuries to occupiers or guests visiting and damages to or loss of any property which the occupier or their guests bring on to the premises apart from any liability under the Travellers Accommodation Providers (Liability) Act 2001.


Complaints


It is vital that guests report to the managers as soon as possible (including after hours if necessary) of any incident occurring in the units or on the premises in order to ensure that the issue is resolved immediately and effectively. Please do not try to resolve the matters of other guests on your own accord. For issues which could not be resolved during your stay, a written and signed complaint must be submitted to the motel within 5 workings days from the departure date.


Disclosure and Information Sharing


The Tin Can Bay Motel will only disclose your personal information (unless we have your permission) where we are obliged by law to do so; we are requested by you to carry out the necessary services; we reasonably believe that disclosure is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to an individual’s life, health or safely or a serious threat to public health or safety; and or suspect that an unlawful act is or has been made and this information is necessary for any part of investigation in the matter including us reporting our concerns to the relevant authorities.
