Cooloola Festival Of Birds

The Cooloola festival of birds will be held in April 2012 exact date yet to be confirmed. In conjunction with Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival, join in acknowledging the wonder of our migratory shorebirds and celebrate their annual return to our shores.

Held at Tin Can Bay foreshore esplanade from 9am-5pm you will learn about migratory shorebirds, habitat disturbance, saltmarsh & birdwatching tourism from a variety of speakers plus guided birdwalks & shorebird activities for children.

Bay To Bay Yacht Race

Yacht race from Tin Can Bay to Hervey Bay held in May every year. Held every year since 1981 the Bay to Bay Yacht Race promises to be an event to remember. Starting from Tin Can Bay the yachts head up the Great Sandy Straits to Hervey Bay.

Tin Can Bay Foreshore Carnival

Come and enjoy the daily fun with family entertainment and amusements along the Tin Can Bay foreshore just 1km from your accommodation at the Tin Can Bay Motel. Beginning on Boxing Day and continuing until New Years Eve this is FREE nightly entertainment with markets, music, food and drink stalls and much more.

Live music on stage from 5-9pm and on New Years Eve a top band from 6pm followed by fireworks at 9pm and midnight.

Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival

The Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival is held over two days in September every year. Event highlights include live stage entertainment, helicopter joy rides, cooking demonstrations, market stalls, rides for the children and veteran car, motor bike and steam driven engine displays.

Various competitions are also held throughout the day, the famous prawn eating competition always proves popular as does the mullet throwing competition and for the children there is the fish toss or skateboard and BMX competitions.

Dolphin Feeding

The Mary Valley Rattler is on the 3rd Sunday of Each Month. Join us in the old gold town of Gympie for this great day of historical re-enactment in conjunction with your Rattler journey on the third Sunday of each month. Watch out for bushrangers along the way. Especially at the stations!!
